AHNA was born from a simple desire:
to create objects that have a soul.

A realization rooted in reality

Nathalie left Madagascar in 2017, at the age of 22, to build a new life in Germany. She soon realized that the image the outside world holds of her home country is often reductive: many see only its challenges, its poverty, or the difficulties of daily life.

Yet Madagascar carries within it an exceptional cultural and artisanal richness, shaped by subtle techniques and traditions of remarkable finesse.

This is the beauty Nathalie chose to highlight through interior decor pieces designed to reveal the uniqueness and delicacy of these gestures passed down through generations. From this deep desire, AHNA was born.

an inherited passion

AHNA was born from this desire to make a discreet beauty visible.

A desire that Nathalie has held for a long time, well before leaving Madagascar.

It has its roots in a more personal story: that of his mother, who passed away in 2010 at only 38 years old.

She was a woman who loved to make houses beautiful, create a gentle atmosphere, and help everyone prepare for big moments.

She had that gift, naturally.

She also dreamed of travelling, of discovering other countries… but time decided otherwise.

So Nathalie decided that AHNA's creations would travel for her.

That they would go and see the world in her place, carrying a little of her with them: her gentleness, her strength, and her way of doing things carefully.

That's why each AHNA piece tells two stories at the same time:

the story of Madagascar, with its magnificent know-how, and the story of a mother who continues, even from afar, to inspire her daughter.

“On the day my mother died, the house wasn’t ready for the wake. Nobody really knew what to do. And my aunt said something to me that I’ll never forget:
If she were still here, she would have fixed everything with her own brand of perfection. – Nathalie

The stories told

Each AHNA collection is rooted in a story from Madagascar.

A legend, a landscape, a motif, a way of life, a childhood memory or a skill that transcends generations.

We want each creation to be a fragment of the island: its strength, its gentleness, its colors, its contrasts.

Through our collections, Madagascar is not merely a backdrop, it is the source, the initial inspiration . Thus, each collection becomes a way of telling the story of the island differently, and of sharing what it holds most precious.

Controlled productions

We work with small, family-run workshops in Madagascar, where each piece is made with care.

These workshops perpetuate skills passed down from generation to generation and offer respectful working conditions.

Because everything is handmade, our items are produced in limited quantities. We don't follow trends: we move at the pace of the craft, taking the time it takes to do things well.

Each AHNA creation passes through the hands of artisans who know their materials, take the necessary time, and put their heart into what they do. It is this relationship of trust and close collaboration that gives our pieces their soul and authenticity.

Our raw materials

Our collections are designed using natural materials chosen for their quality and authenticity.

The cotton is handwoven on traditional looms, while the raffia, emblematic of Madagascar, is harvested, dried, and worked by artisans who have mastered this know-how for generations.

The raffia path

Raffia comes from the leaves of a palm tree, which are harvested and then sun-dried before being transformed into fine natural fibers.

These fibers are then braided or crocheted by hand by artisans to create strong and delicate pieces.

Heartfelt regards to you.

"AHNA was born from a double heritage: that of Madagascar, my native island, and that of my mother, who passed on to me her love for interior decoration.

Through this brand, I want to highlight the beauty of my country, the beauty that is not always seen.

My wish is simple: that each creation conveys a part of this story to you, and that it enters your home with the same intention that we put into making it.

Thank you for being here, and for making this dream a reality with me."
